Satish Sharma, Minister for FCS & CA, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology, Science and Technology, ARI and Trainings, today conducted a review of the Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA), an agency tasked with the design, delivery, and management of e-governance projects in the region.
The review meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JaKeGA, Director Finance JaKeGA, and technical staff of the agency. During the session, the CEO briefed the Minister on the agency’s physical and financial progress, along with upcoming projects, through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
Key Insights and Progress:
The CEO informed the Minister that JaKeGA serves as the nodal agency for implementing Information Technology (IT), Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES), and e-governance projects across Jammu and Kashmir. The primary objective of JaKeGA is to design, deliver, and manage these e-governance initiatives by providing essential administrative, financial, legal, and technical support.
Push for E-Services Centres:
Minister Satish Sharma emphasized the need to expedite the establishment of e-services centres across the region. These centres will play a crucial role in ensuring that digital services reach the public at their doorsteps, making essential services more accessible to all citizens.
The Minister further stressed the importance of leveraging technology to enhance transparency, improve efficiency, and ensure that the benefits of e-governance projects are fully realized by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
